The play type that developed in the Manui Basin is a combination of structural and stratigraphic traps in Middle Miocene – Late Miocene rocks (Langkawola in the Abuki-1 Well). These rocks form intraformational source rock and reservoirs. Locations that are farther from the mainland now (basinal) are expected to have thicker sediments that help the maturity process. Oil that has been formed is interpreted as migrating and trapped at the peaks of the anticlinal (faulted anticlinal nose) identified in several locations in the seismic data. This trap is interpreted to be closed by seals from the siltstone – claystone of the Boepinang Formation. At least there are five leads that have been identified in the Manui Basin area, these leads are in the form of Structural Closure, namely the type of faulted anticlinal nose. The anticline aspect of this structure is evident on the seismic section, but does not represent the main risk of the structure associated with the prospect. One of leads in this basin based on speculative resources calculations produces the largest speculative resource value for the Oil Scenario (P50) is 226 MMBO and for the Gas Scenario (P50) is 340.25 MMCF.
