Sejak tanggal 5 Agustus 2009 G. Ibu berstatus Siaga (level III). Hingga saai ini letusan abu dan hembusan masih sering terjadi. Pada akhir Maret 2010, berdasarkan informasi penduduk sekitar G. Ibu, terjadi guguran dari bibir kawah G. Ibu. Dalam upaya mitigasi, Tim Tanggap Darurat melakukan pemantauan kegiatan G. Ibu secara lebih intensif lagi.
