On March 21 and 31 eruptions took place, discharging ash clouds about 1 kilometer high, which then drifted northeast until 5 kilome ters distant. Eruption products composed of ash, sand and lapilli mixed with sul-fur were deposited until a thickness of 2 centimeters above the villages of Lamalota, about 1 kilometer N.NW, and Dokin, about 2 kilo meters SE of the crater.

In January ash eruptions accompanied by strong detanations took place 3x, viz. on the 15th, 21.00 loc time on the 17th 06.05 loc time and on the 21st 17.55 loc time. Rumblings were often heard, sometimes lasting for several hours. Glares could be observed at night. The mechanical "Spindler & Hoyer" observatory seismograph with horizontal component recorded 30 earthquakes incl 16 felt.
