In February of the forner year (1698) a very remarkable outburst on the slope of the volcano Lamongan (in the residence Probolinggo on Java) had taken place, which by soveral persons, among others by the Controler of Elakah, A. Ardesch, and the Assistant-Resident of Lunajang, C. Lok, was observed.
