The Dusun Intrusive complex, which lies about 40 km southeast of lake tawar in a remote part of Aceh Tengah, has been the subject of a mineral investigation programme. Previous investigations in this area have revealed the presence of chalcopyrte, galena,sphalerite and molybdenite, with indicatations of both porphyry-style and vein mineralisation.

These areas-Panomon, Kebyaran and keuretu -were suggested as follow-up targets on the basis of geochemical anomalies found during the regional geochemical survey of the north Sumatra Project (NSP).
