The Bilotic Population Of The Sunda Strait
The Sunda Strait is narrow and shallow in the eastern part, but wide and deep in the western part. The strait connects the Jawa Sea and the Indian Ocean. It is filled with mixed saline water from the Jawa Sea during all months but November, so that virtually no influence of the Indian Ocean is noted in the western part of the Jawa Sea (Suriaatmadja 1956).

Oceanographic Feature of The Sunda Strait
The Sunda Strait is situated between the island of Java and Sumatra, connecting the Java Sea in the north and the Indian Ocean in the South. In the northern part the strait is narrower and shallower than in the southern part. The narrowest part in the north is only about 24 km wide with depth of less than 8 m.
