investigation of titaniferous iron sand along the southrn coast of java island has been carried out by the geological survey of indonesia since 1972. However, systematic detailed exploration by the directorate of mineral resources started only in 1979. the result of each investigation since then, has been presented in the coop annual meeting.
An introduction to forensic Geoscience provides fundamental training in geoscience as developed through the lens of its forencis applications .it incorporates a range of topics including geophysical methods of grave detection, the mineralogy of art, identication of microfossils ,and comparison of soil trace evidence samples .each topich is introduced …

The Cikaso iron sand deposit is located in the southern coast of west java. Systematic exploration drilling has been carried out by directorate of mineral resources (Subandoro et. al.,1981). Samples of iron sand are taken by drill holes at a grid of 20 m x 200 m,from which data of thickness and grade are obtained.
Variables in the reduction of New Ze.aland ironsand concentrate: pellets, by solid carbonaceous materials, were investigated on a. Mettler thermobalance. supplemented by metallurgical examination. Weight changes were translated into rates of reaction, using iron analysis to fix the end points. Carbonaceous bed reduction of pellets was a function…
Technical problems involved in the smelting of titaniferous iron ores are discussed in relation to the development of processing methods for commercial utilization of these ores. The methods to be used for producing steel from New Zealand ironsands are described briefly.
The developme~ of economic techniques of mining and concentrating taconite (fine• grained, Ierruginous jasperoids) led to the introduction of the iron-ore pellet, which is now becoming the major form in which iron is introduced into the furnace. The tre• mendous reserves of magnetic taconites of the…
