The 1982-83 eruption of Galunggung Volcano (Java, Indonesia) represents a splendid example of syneruptive magmatic evolution. This eruption seems to be particular because of three characteristics: its duration (9 month) whereas historic activities lasted only a few hours of days, the diversity of the eruptive dynamics and the wide range of compositions erupted.
