Smelting test in a small blast furnace with briquetted coke made from Pulau Laut and Sebuku Coal. "Wadexro" Vol. 8 IIIA.
52 tons of Indonesian briquetted coke were put through a small blast furnace of friedrichshutte at Herdcorf with the aim of determining the suitability of this coke for metallurgical purposes and thus for the blast furnace. The small blast furnace has a herath diameter of 1.8 m and normally puts through 50 - 60 tons of coke per day corresponing to a pig-iron production of 50-55 tons. It mainly produces high-manganese and high-silicon "cold-blown" pig-iron grades.
