New seismic techniques deifine strat, lith details

Recent advances in seismic technology are providing the tools for accurate and effective delineation and quantification of hydrocarbon bearing strata. Llimits of resolution have been significantly reduced so that it is common to provide pay thickness maps at 10 foot contour levels from seismic data alone. In addition, it is possible to establish positions of permeability barriers, generally determine whether communication exists between sand bodies, and detect specificporous zone in limestones.
