Proposed work plan in exploration geochemistry map and report presentation policy of geochemical results : regional geochemical samplling strategy and techniques for the indonesian environment
This report focuses much on regional geochemistry as a system for mapping of the secondary environment. The reasons for this are that geochemistry has during the past decade found applications far beyond the traditional ones in the search for mineral commodities. The fields that applied-- geochemistry currently finds applications to are primarily:
* Mineral exploration
* Chemical environmemt
* Health research and monitoring
*• Agriculture and forestry
* Area planning for land use
* Geothermal energy
Therefore, the intentions of a. multipurpose approach by DMR is advisable. A programme with such an approach is recommended to start as soon as possible to provide background geochemical information of the secondary environment of Indonesia. In order to fulfil these intentions, a number of prerequisites have to be effected by DMR and the bodies it is subordinated, covering the aspects from the strategical planning throughout a publication policy for result presentation.
It is recommended that DMR and its Geochemical Division takes an ~ctive and leading role in these respects which will constitute one of the more important cornerstones of its function. The methods employed and the results achieved within the long-term DMR-BGS cooperation have, when appropriate, served as a model for the recommendations given in this report. This cooperation is much based on a complete system approach and the works have almost exclusively been carried out within DMR in Indonesia.
