Numerous and diverse errors are encountered in applied geochemistry from field collection, sample preparation and chemical analysis. Typographic errors are also involed but frequently neglected. These errors must be controlled and monitored and the quality of the results checked before the results are processed and displayed on maps. This to ensure that the geochemical products will commensurate to the objectives of the survey set up. A constant check of errors is necessary to obviate false trends and anomalies on geochemical maps.
