Krakatau voleano which is located at Sunda Strait, Indonesia, catastrophic The is a wellknown volcano in the world, because of its eruption in August 1883, and submarine caldera came into existence. Relatively in a short time, fortyfour years later, in Docamber 1927, ronewed activity was begun, started by submarine oxplosions. eruption was a commencement for the first periode of a now cycle of Krakatau activity. The type of eruptions were variod. The variation of the erup- tion in the periodo of the activity was divided into two phases. The first, from 1927 till 1960, the activity was occupied by ultravolcanian and volcanian type of eruption, named volcanian phase. The next phase, type started from 1960 till 1981, was predominated by Strombolian and accompanied by Java extrusion. The phase was named main activity phase.

Based on the type of cruption or the phase of activity and its product, it can be concluded that there are some possibilities follow: as

a. Anak Krakatau has passed its main activity in the first periode. It is very likely no more eruption accompanied by the extrusion of lava in the same scale with the eruption during the second phase. The activity is going to quiescence.
