Efforts to compile a more comprehensive bibliography on the ill- famed Krakatau volcano are presently more rewarding than in the pre- viously given attsapts (Van Barem, 1931; Brodie, 1982; Da Nova, 1936, 1953; Kusumadinata et al., 1979; Nourn van Padang, 1951; Ongkosongo & Suwardi, 1981; and Soagiarto & Soegiarto, 1983). This because in the last quarter of a century (1960-1984) we are interpreting "goology" in its broadest sanse: the fundamental scimco of the planet Barth, its materials, its history, and its dynamics. Because of our training and experience we also take in astrogoology, the corresponding aspect of the planetary sciences. Besides the classical core disci- plines we wubraco presently the newer fields of geophysics and geo- chemistry, applied also to oceanography, goochronology, and palavoocol.ogy.
