The Integrity of Platform Superstructures
The superstructure of an offshore platform appears at first sight as a large monolith. In fact, these structures comprise a complexity of separate sub-assemblies or modules supported one on another seemingly at random. The central issue in questions of the structural integrity of modular superstructures is the way in which functional and environmental loadings on the modules are transmitted down into the platform support structure.
