A Kelud Outburst Of 1334 AD
In the Old Javanese poon Niagarakretagana', a panegyric or landatory poon on H.IM. Radjasanagara (Hayan Voeroek) of Majapahit, the post laureate Prapanjtjia in song I strophe 6 sang of a volcanic outburst, which had taken place in 1334 AD before the birth of this fanous emperor fron Majapahit's prosperity, which outburst according the poet was the proof that the little prince, which is to be born, was an incarnation of Bhatara Guru, the Suprene God. The verbally translation according the late prof. H. Kern from the part, which deals on the outburst, sounds: The earth shuddered, vapour rose (fron the volcanoes), an ashrain felt, the thunder rumbled, flash of lightnings cleft while swinging the atmosphere, a thundering noise made the main mountain Kampud, the vickeds and rascals were exterminated, powerless perished'. Up to now it was not known, which of the volcanoon on Java in that old team bore the nane Kampud, but not long ago it might succed to clear this point.
