Industrial minerals development is favourable because of their quick yielding in investments. Industrial minerals are very prospective to boost the ASEAN Countries Economic and provide employment.

The ASEAN Countries as a part of this region, with considerable variety of mineral recources. could play an important role to meet this region growing demand for minerals. by taking advantage of its favourable geographical location.
This is line with the purpose and objectives of the establishment of ASEAN "Association of South East Asia Nations" as stated in Bangkok Declaration of 8 August 1967, among others : to develop active cooperation and mutual support in the fields of economic. social, technique, science and administration: to cooperate effectively in order to increase the utilization of agriculture and industry, expand the market of the international commodities issues; etc.
