Increased Activity Of Mt.Kelud During 1975.

A gradual temperature increase of the crater lake water from normal, i.e. 32° - 33° C, was recorded since the last week of August 1973. The estimated"critical" temperature, i.e. around 40°C, was reach ed on November 5, 1973. Since then the water temperature fluctus ted between 38° C and 40°°c until approximately the end of Janua ry 1974. On January 31 a temperature of 41° C was measured, which then continuously increased until February 10, when 42° C was measured. Hereafter a gradual drop took place until the middle of March. A temperature of 37° C was measured on March 18, which stayed constant for about two weeks. Then again it rose slightly with only one degree within a period of about two months, and hereafter fluctuated between 36° C and 40° C until the end 1974.
