This Bureau of Mines report presents a summary review of the mineral industries of 26 countries in the Far East and South Asia. An outlook section for each country briefly assesses the future prospects for the mineral industry in that country. Base~aps provide informa• tion on land area, population, and location of major mineral deposits and facilities: mines, oil and gas fields, and processing plants, including iron and steel works, nonferrous smelters and refineries, and cement plants. The maps also show major roads, pipelines, railways, and ports important to mineral transportation and trade.
