Batur in Bali island is known as a call for both, the caldera or the active cone within the caldera. It becomes interesting tourism object since long time ago. 8°4'S and approxi-Latitude The geographic position of Batur is Longitude 115°22'. Kintamani is the nearest city, mately 70 Km north-east of Denpasar, the capital of Bali Province. Due to wide spread volcanic products, the land inside and outerside of caldera becomes fertile. Therefore, the land is cultivated and used as settlement areas. Volcanological Survey of Indonesia (VSI) has built a volcano observatory on the southeast of the caldera rim since few years ago to monitor Mt. Batur activities and to map geological and potential hazard of the volcano.
