Memorandum the Argos Platform 8460 ( Mount Soputan )

The platform 8460, owned by the French D.R.M., has been settled on the Mount Soputan (North Sulawesi) following the
been unforecasted eruption of April 1989. The intervention has possible within a very short time after the first detection of an abnormal activity because this platform was to be installed by the V.S.I. on the mount Lokon near the mount Soputan at this period. Much practical knowledge can be drawn from be drawn from this first settlement of an ARGOS platform dedicated to early warning of eruption.
