APPLIED GEOPHYSICS UNIT

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE REQUEST in May 1969 the Indonesian Department of Mines sent a requet to the British Embassy in Djakarta for technical Assistance in Applied Geophysics within the framework of the Indonesian Five Year Development Plan.This request was transmitted through the British Ministry of Oversens Developmet(ODM) to the Institute of Geological Sciences(IGS) in London.Following comunication between IGS and the Geologicak Survey of Indonesia(GSI) in bangung it was agreed that two geophysicits from IGS should visit Indonesia.MR R B Evans and MR P G Greenwood of the Applide Geophysics Unit Of the IGS Geophysical Division consequently spent 31/2 months in Indonesia in early 1970.
