The Depositional History Of The Sediments In The Ombilin II Project Area, With Reference To Exploration And Mining Applications Of The Depositional Model Preliminary Report
The Ombilin II Coal Field lies in the northwest of the large Tertiary age Ombilin Basin, and is, located in the Bukit Barisan Range in West Sumatra. The basin which is fault controlled has been filled with sediments ranging from paloecene to early Miocene. Towards the base of the succession economic quantities of coal were deposited in three seams, the A, B and C Seams.
