The high price of fuel oil couple with the desire to utilize indigenous fossil fuel reserves has led many industries to consides coal as an alternative fuel for their process and heating needs .materials drying requires large heat inputs .replacing fuel oil with coal as a driying fuel is economically attractive for many industrial applications .in analyzing the economic benefits of conversion to coal ,we must weight the resultant fuel cost savings against the investments required for the fuel conversional and the additional operating and maintenance costs.
