Report Of The Results Of Mining Geologic Investigation On Pulau Laut

The first investigations of the coal formation on the is land of pulau Laut Were carried out by mining-engineer C.DE GROOT, on account of a report published in 1850 by the architect of the engineers corps W. IHNE. Since he only visited the coal occurrences on the northern part of the island, D.E.GROOT was of the opinion that coal deposits occur only in this part. Based on this fact and other technical reasons he thought that exploitation can not be recommended.
