Proceedings Of The International Clay Conference 1975

The international Clay Conferences are held every three years under the auspices of the ASSOCIATION INTENATIONALE POUR L'ETUDE DES ARGILES. The 1975 International Clay Conference was held in Mexico City July 16-23, 1975, with field trips before and after the presentation of papers. The Conference was sponsored by the Instituto the Geologia of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, with Liberto de Pablo-Galan serving as Secretary General and Diego A. Cordoba as Chairman of the Organizing Committee. This Proceedings volume contains most of the papers presented at the Conference, together with the Introductory lectures by the Technical Session Chairman. In contrast to previous Conferences, the full papers were not published prior to the Conference and, accordingly, more time was allocated at this meeting for oral presentation and less time for discussion than in the past. All papers approved by the Session Chairman for oral presentation were eligible also for consideration for later publication in the Proceedings, but there was no requirement that the papers be submitted. Only abstracts are given here for those papers that were not submitted , and no discussions are published. Special appreciation is expressed to the authors for their fine cooperation and observance of deadlines.
