Geochemical Exloration 1974

The association was honoured by the presence of Dr. D.J. McLaren, Director of the Geological survey of canada, who welcomed the delegates to the meeting, and Dr. J.S. Webb, Professor of applied geochemistry at the Royal School of mines, and President of the institution of mining and metallurgy of london, who gave the opening address. The technical programme was largely concerned with exploration for mineral deposits concealed beneath various types of overburden, and with the use of primary dispersion patterns as guides to mineralization. This is succeeded by five sections with well-defined themes. Statistical Techniques (7 papers), Primary Dispersion (10 papers). Exploration in Lateritic and Tropical Terrains (10 papers), Exploration in Glaciated Terrains (6 papers), Analitical Geochemistry (5 papers).
