Results on the studies of biotic communities on coastal area of Sumur are in part presented in separate papers in this symposium (see Kartawinata et al. 1983a, b; Hartoto et al, 1983; Sujatno et al. 1983; Wowor et al. 1983). The present paper is cocerned with the results of the inventory of plant. species cultivated in homegardens in the village of Sumur, Banten, West Java.
The Quaternary volcanic rocks of Wilis Mountains can be divided into three morphocets : i.e the Jeding - Patukbanteng Morphocet, the Pawonsewu Morphocet, and the Argokalangan Morphocet. A sub-division of a morphocet is called a "morphonits", and eight morphonits have been recognized.
