Mt. Semeru volcanic complex is basalt-andesite composite volcano in East Java, Indonesia. The structural geology of study area is indicated by faults or structural trends and negative volcanic landforms such as calderas, maars, craters and escarpments.
Volcanism has played a central role in forming man's environment. In one side, volcanic disasters rank high among natural hazards especially in countries where active volcanoes do occur in densely populated areas. Pyroclastic flows and lahar flows have been important agents of death among the types of volcanic hazards.
This study deals with the volcanic hazards-mapping from a Petrological and Morphological point of view with a case study in Indonesia (Galunggung Volcano, Tasikmalaya, West Java). From a Petrological point of view the increase or decrease of the major elements contained in the eruption products, the eruption charactheristics and the differentiation processes which have taken place in the magma …
Merapi volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and during the last 3000 yrs, it has been more or less continuously in eruption. Merapi volcano is a stratovolcano with a south-west facing horseshoe-shaped summit crater filled by a lava dome. Its composition rangers from basalt to basaltic andesite (52 to 56% SiO2) and it has high Al2O3 (18.5 to 20.2% wt) and medium to high K2O …
