This study deals with the volcanic hazards-mapping from a Petrological and Morphological point of view with a case study in Indonesia (Galunggung Volcano, Tasikmalaya, West Java). From a Petrological point of view the increase or decrease of the major elements contained in the eruption products, the eruption charactheristics and the differentiation processes which have taken place in the magma sources of the Galunggung volcano can be shown.
