In January this volcano showed increasing activity. On the 22nd, 06. 15 loc, time, B crater emitted rather thick white smoke with strong gas pressure until 300 meters high. This phenomenon lasted almost continuosly from morning until evening. A moderate eruption took place at C crater on the 30th, discharging thick turbulent black ash cloud with strong pressure untill 500 meters high.

During the month of January the growth of lava dome continued slowly. From time to time at night glares above the dome could be observed. On January 15 a lava avalanche entered the upper course of R. Batang. In February the growth of lava dome seemed to cease completely.
